Draws power from up to two USB ports and directs it to USB devices requiring additional power
USB3-Y is an 18” USB 3.0 auxiliary power / extension cable that is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1. If an external USB Hard Drive or other device requires more power than a single USB port can supply, the Y-Cable allows voltage and current to be drawn concurrently from 2 USB ports which, in combination, can generate enough power to run that device without employing an AC Adapter.
USB3-Y has 2 type A USB 3.0 Male ends that plug into the computer (one data/power, the other just power) and 1 USB A Female end to plug your external drive or device into.
