The OptiPlex 5080 Tower Desktop Computer from Dell delivers security and manageability within a chassis that utilizes a shift venting pattern for improved thermals, as well as the ability to swap or replace parts without the need to remove the front bezel. The system is powered by a 10th Gen 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5-10500 Six-Core processor and 12MB of Intel Smart Cache memory, all of which will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously and provide significant performance gains when running multi-threaded tasks. If more power is needed, the CPU can deliver extra performance by increasing its clock speed up to 4.5 GHz utilizing Intel's Turbo Boost 2.0 technology.

The 8GB of 2933 MHz DDR4 RAM comes in a 1 x 8GB configuration, allowing the computer to run multiple applications simultaneously and to quickly access frequently used files and programs. It may also be upgraded to 128GB by using a 32GB module in each of the system's four 288-pin DIMM slots.

For storage of your files, this system is equipped with a 256GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. If you want to add external storage drives, optical drives, printers, memory card readers, or other peripherals, the OptiPlex 5080 features one 10 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, five 5 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and four 480 Mb/s USB 2.0 Type-A ports, two of which have Smart Power On. For users who wish to add additional components to the drive bays, there are a total of three 3.5"/2.5" drive bays, one M.2 slot for 2280 PCIe SSDs, Intel Optane memory, or an M.2 2230 PCIe SSD, and one M.2 2230 slot for a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card.

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 chipset delivers a sharp, clear picture and there are two DisplayPort 1.4 ports for connecting displays. Whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game, the integrated Realtek HD ALC3246 audio controller outputs 4-channel HD audio and delivers higher fidelity than standard audio controllers. Network connectivity is achieved using an integrated Gigabit Ethernet port, and the 8x DVD±RW drive can be used to read from and write to optical media.
