The Sony QL 128GB BD-R XL offers 4X speed and the highest quality for both archival storage and recording Ultra Hi-Def 4K video content. As Sony claims, "In addition to the multi-layer technology we have cultivated so far, our unique combination of materials has ensured high signal quality in all four layers." From these 128GB discs, the elements that make up the recording film are selected for each functional characteristic, such as reflectance and transmittance, and the composition ratio is optimized for all four layers. Due to this incredible attention to every detail, data can be read stably with high quality from each recording layer for a long-time span. In consideration of storage reliability, the newly developed resin material (intermediate layer resin) and dielectric material are used for each layer of the 4-layer disc other than the recording film. That is why the Sony 128GB BC-R XL media is excellent not only for initial recording quality but also for long-term storage.
