The MP7000's sensor-based Non-Decode Events can identify when items are passed through the scanner's field of view but a barcode is not scanned. This feature can detect if a cashier accidentally misses a scan, as well as scan avoidance schemes when customers try to bypass the scanner to avoid paying for an item in self-checkout. When such non-decode events are detected, the MP7000, along with other POS equipment, can provide alerts and videos to the POS system, so proper mitigation actions can be taken.
