VMware vSAN is VMware's software-defined storage: it pools the local drives of vSphere hosts into shared, policy-driven datastores for virtual machines and containers.
Broadcom licensing update: This part is a vSAN licence from before Broadcom's 2024 licensing change. Broadcom has retired the separate vSAN editions and perpetual licences: vSAN capacity now comes with VMware Cloud Foundation and vSphere Foundation subscriptions, with extra capacity sold as a per-TiB vSAN add-on. This listing is kept for existing customers and reference; ask us and we will quote the current equivalent.
