The SDN-ready MX480 Universal Edge Router delivers high performance, reliability, and scalability, for service provider and enterprise applications.
At eight rack units (8 RU), the 2.8Tbps MX480, provides high-density, scalable, and efficient, 10GbE, 40GbE, 100GbE, as well as legacy SONET/SDH, ATM, and PDH connectivity. The MX480 also supports sophisticated timing and virtualization capabilities, including virtualized network services, virtual chassis, and virtual CPE functionality, that help customers streamline network design and operation.
For cost effective sparing and maintenance, the MX480 shares a common set Field Replaceable Units (FRU) with the MX240 and MX960 platforms such as routing/control and switching components, port card, and services cards. Its resilient and fully redundant architecture provides a consistent operations and service environment.
